Linda Southwell makes hand-built ceramics inspired by organic forms.

Using a combination of techniques from pinching and coiling to slab building, I work directly with the clay and use very few tools or equipment. The processes I use are very time consuming and I work on up to five pieces at any one time, rotating around them adding a few coils at a time, or individual petals to my flower forms. I am heavily influenced by nature and our environment and draw inspiration from plant forms and seed pods.

You may have seen Linda’s work on the first series of the Great British Pottery Throwdown, where one of her tea sets were used as an example piece.
