Natalie Rudd, curator of the exhibition ‘In my Shoes’ takes a look at self-portraiture and how we now all see it as the norm. Looking to the re-opening of The Portland Collection which contains one of the largest collections of oil painted portraits, an art form reserved then for the tiny wealthy elite.
‘In my Shoes’ an Arts Council Collection touring exhibition on show at The Harley Gallery from 6 July until 22 September 2019, explores approaches to self-portraiture by British Artists since the 1990’s. Including works by Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Gavin Turk, Rachel McLean and Bedwyr Williams.
