The Harley Summer School 2021

Have your children missed out on meaningful experiences during the past year? Help them make some memories with The Harley Summer School – a whole week (or just a day) having fun exploring different ways to get creative.

The sessions are led by the Harley Learning Team, Ruth and Dayle, and provides children with a week-long enriched programme of activities that will be educational, inspiring and hands-on!

What’s on

Monday – Action and performance art – Using our bodies to create art. Giant Spirograph, spin painting and art to music.

Tuesday – Art and nature – Have fun creating art with nature; have a go at creating a Cyanotype image using sunlight. Create a piece of art, or wearable art using collected natural materials.

Wednesday –Build a Grotto – Be inspired by the Grotto tunnel at Welbeck and spend the day building with card and paper, creating and building a large-scale grotto (not the Christmas type!).

Thursday – Get creative with textiles  – Spend the day making colourful tie-dyed t-shirts and soft squishy textile sculptures.

Friday – Crazy golf meets marble run – Spend the day creating a fusion of crazy golf and marble run, after the session parents are welcome to join us and see what we have created over the week and most importantly have a go with ‘Crazy golf ball run’.

Bring along a packed lunch and suitable clothes for all weathers. Please make sure that your children are dressed in clothes that you do not mind getting messy. It is also advised for children to bring an apron.

During the week there may be occasions when the children will be going for a short walk and working outside. So please dress the children appropriately for the weather e.g suitable footwear, raincoats or sun hats and sun cream.

When attending this event, please drive directly to The Harley Studios and park by the Education Room. Directions will be provided on booking.
