Adult Learning

The Harley Foundation offers a programme of events and activities for Adults, which aims to both access to new opportunities for creativity and to add depth to your existing knowledge.

You might want to choose to learn a new skill or to refine an old one, take part in an artist talk or take a tour of the historic art collection – while enjoying the company of likeminded people.

Practical Workshops

Practical workshops for adults take place regularly, and are led by artists who are either exhibiting or who are based in The Harley Studios.

These workshops include sessions in our specialist Pottery Studio. These range from beginners’ courses to studio access for experienced potters.

Talks and Tours

A regular talks programme covers topics as diverse as mourning jewellery, early autochrome photography, or contemporary collage embroidery.

Tours of gallery exhibitions and of the State Rooms at Welbeck Abbey are also available to book.

Events for Lifelong Learning Groups

If you’re looking to plan a group visit, please get in touch.

We can arrange talks and tours, visits to our artist studios, and creative workshops to suit your group. Our Learning team can also come to you for practical sessions or talks.

Don’t forget: the Art Walk offers a great extension to your visit. Take the walk to travel through time from contemporary art at The Harley to ice-age cave painting at nearby Creswell Crags.
