Local artist Julian Bray takes inspiration from the surrounding architecture on the historic estate and rare stereoscopic autochromes of the Edwardian gardens at Welbeck.

Julian’s paintings convey the romance of these 100-year-old photographs and combine floral imagery with architectural structures, mingling the real and the imaginary. Using mixed media techniques Julian encapsulates a range of effects: resulting in an exploration of contrasting opacity and transparent imagery.
