In this online talk, Modern British Art Collectors Alan Grieve and William Parente discuss the Jerwood Collection.
Alan is the Executive Chairman of The Jerwood Collection and has been collecting Modern British Art for over 50 years. He not only started this Collection, but also initiated the Jerwood Painting Prize, and established the Jerwood Gallery in the Natural History Museum, South Kensington, the Jerwood galleries in Jerwood Space, Southwark and the award-winning Jerwood Gallery (now Hastings Contemporary).
William Parente is chair of The Harley Foundation and a passionate art collector. His art collection showed at The Harley Gallery in An English Perspective in 2011.
From Spring 2021, a series of exhibitions from The Jerwood Collection of Modern and Contemporary British Art will be on show at The Harley Gallery.
This year-long collaboration will be the collection’s first-ever residency. It will run for a year, encompassing four exhibitions from an impressive range of UK artists. The Jerwood Collection has not been seen before in the Midlands and this collaboration will offer visitors an opportunity to see a privately-owned art collection that sits in comparison to The Portland Collection.
